La Montaña y el Valle - The Coffee Estate Inn is situated at 4,200 feet in Jaramillo Arriba, 800 feet above the town of Boquete. We are 1.6 miles (2½ kilometres) from the Boquete town centre, less than a 10 minute drive.

Boquete is situated in the mountains of north western Panama in the province of Chiriqui, 90 kilometres from the Costa Rican border (1 ½ hours driving) and 450 kilometres from Panama city (6 hours driving). The closest airport is in the city of David, 50 kilometres south of Boquete.

The best way to enjoy your stay with us is to fly from Panama City to David, rent a vehicle and drive up here. This is the difference between staying in the mountains with us on a private estate and renting a room in town. Taxis in Boquete are not readily available to come to the inn at your convenience.

The flight from Panama City to David is about an hour and then another hour by vehicle from the David airport to Boquete on an asphalt highway. We provide detailed driving directions.

There are many scenic routes on paved and gravel roads once you are here and it is safe to drive. We provide you with good maps of the area and will explain all of the driving routes. Our guests regularly take advantage of our preferred rate for small 4X4 vehicles from a reliable car rental agency at the David airport. We can make the vehicle reservation for you.

If you are coming from Bocas del Toro, Costa Rica or elsewhere, there are different transportation options that we can discuss with you at such time as you guarantee your reservation.

Please note that you will definitely need the following driving directions to get from Boquete to our inn. Due to river flooding near downtown in November, 2008, we are using a new downtown bridge to come up here. One of our signs still points to the location of the old bridge which will be rebuilt sometime in 2010.

When you get to Boquete:
La Montaña y el Valle - The Coffee Estate Inn is situated at 4,200 feet in Jaramillo Arriba, about 800 feet above the town of Boquete. You will be following two directional signs for La Montaña y el Valle - The Coffee Estate Inn.

• Once you have reached Boquete, stay on the main street until you see the municipal park/square and bus stop in the centre of Boquete on your right. It is just a couple of blocks into the town. If you pass the church, you have gone too far.
• Pass the bus stop and immediately turn right on the one-way beside the square and continue two blocks until you reach the "T" intersection in front of the Romeros supermarket. Turn right.
• At the first cross street, turn left and cross the new decorative steel bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn left.
• Set your odometer to "0" and proceed 0.8 kilometres passing the Boquete fair grounds on your left. You will drive up and down a small hill to an intersection and pass our sign on your right.
• Proceed straight ahead a further 0.4 kilometres and look for our sign that indicates a right turn and drive uphill on an asphalt road.
• At 2.0 kilometres, and, at our third sign, just before a basketball court on the left, turn right onto a gravel road. You should also see "Jaramillo Centro" and a "Jaramillo Arriba" signs pointing in our direction.
• Continue on the gravel road until your odometer reads 2.6 kilometres. You will pass a cellular tower on the right at 2.4 kilometres and a little further, a walled private home on the right and El Explorador on the left. Our entrance with two lamps on columns is about 200 feet beyond the private home on the right.
